ORIGINS

Ving Tsun Kung Fu, as it is taught by Sifu has been preserved in its traditional form

This continuity is due to the unique way it is handed down by a highly devoted and skillful lineage of Sifus (teachers).

Ving Tsun originated in a Shaolin Temple about 400 years ago when the monastery was a hotbed for martial arts and rebellion against the oppressive Manchu government

While this more efficient kung fu style was being developed, Manchurian forces overran and burned down the temple, forcing The elders (including a nun named Ng Moi) to escape

Ng Moi found refuge in the White Crane Temple of Wan Nam, where she witnessed a snake and crane fighting and was inspired to finish creating Ving tsun Kung Fu

Ng Moi eventually met a young woman named Yim Ving Tsun, who was being forced to marry a local warlord

According to legend, Yim Ving Tsun used this new system to defeat the warlord and win her independence
